Group to promote Christian principles 

A conservative group that began in the Hazleton region six years ago is growing to include a council that holds Christian leaders responsible for what they do - or do not - preach.

The offshoot, called Liberty Lighthouse Council on Christian Leadership and Accountability, will be more proactive than Liberty Lighthouse Ministries, said Ray Harker, founder.

"Many disheartened, Bible-believing Christians are leaving churches because their pastors are caving in to political correctness," Harker said. "I've noticed that most Evangelical churches in our country are moving away from teaching a biblical worldview. Instead, they tend to hyper-focus on things like the Christian's personal walk (or spiritual life) and an ecclesiastical orientation."
